TEDDY bears and their owners are invited to an annual picnic at the weekend.

The Preston Park Museum Teddy Bears’ Picnic will take place on Sunday, August 12.

The Teddy Bears’ Picnic activities include going on a bear hunt, arts and crafts with illustrator and author of children's books Liz Million, storytelling with Ivan Limon, face painting, and a chance to make tasty teddy treats.

There will be dance sessions and the chance to take your bear and other stuffed toys for a check-up with the Teddy Doctor.

Stockton Borough Council’s cabinet member for arts, leisure and culture, Councillor Norma Wilburn, said: “The Teddy Bears’ Picnic is a perfect day out for families with small children.

"It offers entertainment and activities in the Walled Kitchen Garden, Orchard, and much-loved Victorian Street of Preston Park Museum.

"There is also a chance to take your teddy bear to visit the Mobile Library Bus and then to explore the lovely parkland setting too.”

The Teddy Bears’ Picnic will take place between 10am until 4pm.

The last admission is at 3.30pm.

Entry is free with museum admission.

A family ticket for two adults and four children costs £5 and is valid for a whole year.
