FOUR people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on the on A172 at Ingleby Cross, Northallerton.
The accident happened at 3.30pm yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, August 7) and fire crews were called to free people from the wreckage using hydraulic cutting gear.
Police, road ambulances and the air ambulance were all at the scene and a woman in her 70s was taken to hospital with serious injuries but they were not believed to be life threatening.
Another woman in her 70s was also taken to hospital.
The road was closed for around four hours while the emergency services worked at the scene.
