A PAIR of footballers have kicked off the new season alongside members of the Hartlepool United Disabled Supporters' Association (HUDSA).

Midfield stars Josh Hawkes and Lewis Hawkins called in to see guests at the annual HUDSA season launch party, with the Pools duo discussing the club's new campaign with members.

Hawkes and Hawkins signed autographs and posed for pictures before helping organiser Neil Appleyard draw a raffle at the Hartlepool Catholic Club.

“It’s always nice to get out and meet supporters, particularly at this stage of the year when we’re all so excited about the new season,” said Hawkins.

“Everyone was having plenty of fun at the disco, but they seemed pleased to see us when we arrived and there were plenty of words of encouragement ahead of Saturday’s game.

“Lots of the people there are regulars at The Vic, so hopefully we can do them all proud in the new season.”
