A COMEDY club has announced a season of top names heading to Teesdale this autumn.

Barnard Castle-based Funny Way To Be Comedy has unveiled the details of ten shows on its programme from September to December.

Promoter Peter Dixon said: “We continue to try our best to programme a range of shows providing something for everyone.”

Kicking off the series at The Witham on September 8 is Mock the Week regular Gary Delaney. He will be followed by BAFTA-winning Tv presenter and comic Iain Stirling, stand-up talent and familiar voice of BBC Radio 4 shows Simon Evans and fellow Radio 4 regular Jeremy Hardy in October.

Zoe Lyons, a regular on TV and radio, will perform in November, followed by the return of award-winning comedian Daniel Sloss, joined by special guest Kai Humphries, plus Harry Baker and Chris Read, better known as Harry and Chris.

Stand-up Sean Walsh will conclude November’s line-up with support from rising star Jake Lambert while Hebburn writer Jason Cook and swing singer Glen Roughhead will round off the programme in December.

The club will also play host to Geordie comedian Gavin Webster at Scarth Hall, in Staindrop, in October. For details and tickets visit funnywaytobe.com
