POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a stolen vehicle was found crashed and abandoned in a ditch.
The grey Mercedes A Class was stolen from a property in Ingramgate, Thirsk, after burglars broke into the house and took the car keys.
The car then crashed into a ditch on the road o Felixkirk from Sutton Road, and was spotted by a passing motorist at 7am on July 31 - but the occupants had left the scene.
Police believe the people inside the crashed vehicle were helped out of it by a third party.
They are appealing to anyone who assisted at the scene, saw the crash or its aftermath or any suspicious activity in the Ingramgate area to contact them.
