A LIBRARY rose to the challenge when a mother suggested first aid courses would be a big help for people looking after babies and toddlers.
Bedale Community Library staged an event with Jenny Ellerton of Davis Training who gave a talk and demonstration on first aid specifically for infants and children showing how to give treatment and to know when expert help is needed.
Jess and Allan Bartlett, whose baby is due in November said they had learned a lot and Jonathan and Claire Kidd who brought their six-week-old son Nathaniel, said they felt much more confident after the course.
Library trustee Susan Perkins said they hope to repeat the course later in the year. She added:"We want our library to provide information and education in various ways, not only through books, and we try to be receptive to new ideas."
