A PICNIC to celebrate 100 years of votes for woman and all men will be held in Spennymoor on Sunday.

People are invited to take a picnic and dress up in Edwardian costume for the event, in Jubilee Park, from 2.30pm on Sunday.

The fun will include music from Spennymoor Town Band, shuggy boats, a bouncy castle, facepainting and games led by former World Cup referee and headteacher George Courtney.

The event has been organised by Spennymoor Youth Council, Spennymoor Stage and Song and Spennymoor West branch of the Women's Institute and supported by Spennymoor Town Council, Spennymoor AAP and the Rotary Club.
