A NEW range of community services to help people stay well and live independently in their own homes have been commissioned in North Yorkshire.
The county council has worked with residents and partners to develop a range of contracts which will help to build on the work of its Stronger Communities, Living Well and Public Health programmes.
The new contracts have been awarded to a mix of existing and new service providers who will be encouraged to work with other voluntary groups in their areas.
They will provide services such as social activities to help reduce social isolation and practical support.
Cllr Caroline Dickinson said: “We already have strong support services in many parts of the county, and the new contracts will build on the work done so far.”
