OUR story about Punch and Judy man Brian Lllewellyn who says the “PC brigade” and “snowflakes” are to blame for his bookings dwindling has led to a flood of comments from readers.

Here are just a few:

Stephen Stacey: "Omg what a joke... I've seen this chap a few times when the kids were little and they loved it. People really need to get a grip."

Christina Watson: "How ridiculous. Like he said, you need to show the bad to bring the good. Punch gets arrested at the end. My girls have seen the show a few times, it’s lighthearted fun!"

Lorna Hart: "Is Tom and Jerry banned then?"

Claire Morton: "It's getting ridiculous now. It's a bit of fun someone isn't violent towards their partner because of watching punch and Judy."

Rachel Smart: "Ban Punch and Judy but allow your kids to play on Grand Theft Auto. The world has gone mad. I have seen this man's show several times and it is brilliant, stop with the political correctness!"

Rachael Stones: "I'm not surprised in the slightest, I've always wondered when this would become an issue. Having said that, my four-year-old watched it at Houghall Show earlier in the year and loved it! More interested in the crocodile and what he was doing!"

Andrea Simpson: "My God what is this world coming to."

Susan Ann Hancock: "And yet they allow Eastenders, Emmerdale, Coronation Street etc."

Steve 'Spook' Watson: "Kids have loved Punch and Judy for hundreds of years, then the PC Brigade turned up."

Mark Robinson: "Snowflakes ought to be ashamed of themselves."

Emma Nevison: "Let's stop football then. Hasn't that just caused more violence in and out the home than anything else? Kids love this and they should know it's a show like anything else we watch."

Lianne Atkinson: "Omg! Violence never even crossed my mind with this show! It’s just a show, this world has gone mad! It’s really funny and I remember seeing them as a kid."n

Brian Johnson: "The soaps today are so dark with lots of evil storylines."

Ruth Pearson: "This has been a tradition for hundreds of years, loved by kids and adults alike, not done them any harm. So they'll blame Punch and Judy for today's problems. God there's more violence on TV nowadays, worse than Punch hitting Judy and the baby with a stick. He gets his comeuppance anyway, so there's a moral to the story. These do gooders want hitting with a stick, never mind Judy."

Gail Hudson: "Never mind, kids can just amuse themselves by playing violent video games. The world has gone mad, kids can’t be kids, no fun."

Andrew Raine: "Have seen Brian at numerous events. A gentleman, earning a living with good ol' fashioned entertainment."

Kevin Clarke: "So are they going to arrest the crocodile for sausage theft then?" ??

Vicky Grainge: "Absolutely ridiculous! I’m really starting to hate this country and the way things are headed."

Alison Thorpe: "The world truly has gone mad! My 19-year-old daughter had a Punch and Judy show for her fifth Birthday performed by Brian. Parents and children alike were rolling in the aisles, it was fantastic fun and no-one complained about it in any way. We need to separate fiction from reality in this country a little bit I think! It's a show, not real life. If you don't like it don't watch it. I sympathise with anyone who is a victim of violence but they would never turn on the TV again if they didn't want to see violence."

Angela Jackson Bain: "Millennium snowflakes, it’s just a puppet, stop the world I want to get off."

Michael Payne: "What next? Ban Goldilocks from stories for entering the three bear's house without permission and nicking their porridge? Pathetic, this country is a slow ride to a Communist state."
