IMAGES have been released as police appeal to trace fans following last season's Middlesbrough v Millwall match.

Cleveland Police launched the appeal following disorder at the Riverside Stadium following the match on Saturday, April 28.

A force said the majority of the disorder involved throwing missiles, predominantly at the end of the game. There were also some isolated incidents of assault.

Officers are keen to speak to those people in the images as they may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Middlesbrough Football Club is supporting the police investigation and enquiries are being carried out in order to identify those people in the images.

Superintendent Dave Sutherland said: “Football matches are meant to be fun and enjoyable for people of all ages, however, there are a minority of people who attend with the intention of becoming involved in disorder and in doing so put the safety of others at risk.

“This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated and all avenues will be taken in order to identify those involved in disorderly behaviour.”

Anyone with information regarding the identity of those in the images is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 or email football.enquiry@cleveland.pnn.police.uk
