TRIBUTES have been paid to a 16-year-old boy who died after being struck by a van.
James Wood of Coxhoe, near Durham, died in hospital following the accident on the A177 between High Shincliffe and Bowburn, at about 4.20am on Thursday, July 12.
In a statement, his father Jonathan Wood said: “It is with deepest regret that I announce the death of our son, James John, affectionately known as Jamesie, who was involved in a road traffic collision in Bowburn.
“He was a much-loved son, brother and grandson and he will be sadly missed. He will live forever in our hearts and our memories.”
The investigation into his death continues. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Durham Police on 101.
