ORGANISERS of a Richmond music festival have confirmed its line-up will include a band whose track has featured on summer blockbuster Oceans 8.

Richmond Live, on Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4 at The Batts, Richmond, will be headlined by Tom Hingley and the Karpets, Jaya the Cat, Martin Stephenson, and The Ceiling Demons.

Holy Moly and the Crackers, whose song Cold Comfort Lane featured in Sandra Bullock film Oceans 8, will also be performing.

Organiser Mike Jinks said: "We booked the band quite a while ago and we were very pleased when we heard that one of their songs was to be featured in Oceans 8. It’s a great film, a great result for the band and quite a coup for us."

Richmond Live is returning after the team took a year off in 2017 for a well-needed break, meaning this year they are celebrating 20 years and 20 shows.

There will also be a few new aspects to the show and a fantastic local and not so local line-up. Friday headliners are American/Dutch punk reggae band Jaya The Cat and Saturday will see Holy Moly & The Crackers, Tom Hingley & The Karpets, local legends Ceiling Demons and Martin Stephenson gracing the stages on the banks of the River Swale. There will also be the usual host of up-and-coming and local bands and artists.

New for this year’s show is the introduction of a free drinking water supply, in an effort to cut down on plastic waste.

Earlybird tickets are on sale now at £10 for the weekend, with under 12s free, from richmondlive.org. On the gates prices will be £5 on Friday and £10 on Saturday.
