A MOTHER has been tagged for stealing from supermarkets and a sports store.
Elizabeth Forster, of Ravenna Road, Sunderland, pleaded guilty to three counts of theft.
Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court heard in March the 32-year-old snatched items from Tesco, in Chester-le-Street, Asda, in Peterlee, and Adidas, in Murton.
Forster yesterday also admitted assault a security guard with intent to resist arrest at the Adidas store.
The court heard she stole items to support a gambling addiction and for her children. A probation officer said she suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder while Peter Thubron, mitigating, described her as “fragile”.
Magistrates imposed a community order of six months and an electronic curfew from 8pm until 7am for its duration.
