A DURHAM University student has been banned from driving after drunkenly crashing into parked cars following a night out with friends.
Laura Carmichael, 22, from North Duffield, near Selby, was breathalysed after the crash on Renny's Lane, Durham, at 3am on May 31 and found to be more than twice the legal limit.
She pleaded guilty to drink-driving when she appeared before magistrates in Newton Aycliffe.
The court heard she had two drinks and a shot when she went to a nightclub, then to a house party, and thought she would be under the limit.
She crashed due to excessive condensation on the car windows when she first started it up.
Magistrates banned her from driving for 20 months and she was fined £120, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
