TWO people have been arrested following a fire which tore through a two-storey set of flats in York.
The blaze quickly took hold of a building in Dale Street, off Nunnery Lane, at about 10.30pm on Tuesday..
A 41-year-old woman from York and a 42-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of arson with intent or being reckless as to whether life was endangered. The man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug.
They have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
A fire service spokesman said: “Multiple reports were received identifying a fire in residential premises. Crews attended and found a two-storey dwelling on fire. Crews tackled the fire.
“All persons were accounted for.”
