POLICE seized a meat cleaver after tracking down a van believed to have been connected to a number of thefts.
A white Citroen van involved in several incidents on Tuesday (July 3) was tracked down by an Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) with Cleveland Police in Thornaby, near Stockton, last night.
They stopped the van and found two men inside. Officers with Cleveland and Durham Roads Policing Unit (RPU) said they also discovered a meat cleaver inside the vehicle.
The two men were arrested on suspicion of theft and for possessing an offensive weapon.
A third man was arrested in connection to the offences and also issued with a Penalty Notice for Disorder (PND) for his behaviour in custody.
