A FREE Party in the Park will be heading to the UK’s largest garrison town, with live pop music and family entertainment.

The event will be taking place in Catterick Garrison on July 14 and will feature live music from singer-songwriter to the stars, Eliot Kennedy.

The Grammy award-winner will be performing some of his greatest hits written for global artists including the Spice Girls, Boyzone, Take That and Bryan Adams, featuring tribute artist Lauren Fay Moss and Tesni Jones, star of ITV’s 2018 The Voice.

Party in the Park will feature singer Joanne Heselden-Edwards who will perform soul covers and original tracks from her album Hidden Wounds and her new album My Journey.

The free event continues a series of charity concerts Eliot Kennedy has performed with Joanne Heselden-Edwards to carry on the legacy of her father, Jimi Heselden, who invented the Hesco Bastion used by the military; he donated millions to Help for Heroes in his lifetime.

Joanne Heselden-Edwards said: "I miss my dad terribly, I want to keep his memory alive by continuing to support the military charities he loved, as well as extend a big thank you to our service men and women who work so hard to keep us safe."

Joanne and Eliot raised £60,000 for Help for Heroes psychological well-being services at Phoenix House in November 2016 in a charity concert.

The team is hosting Rock the Falklands in October this year to entertain the troops.

Eliot Kennedy has sold millions of records world-wide and has mentored megastars such as Little Mix.

He co-wrote the Broadway hit, Finding Neverland with his long-term song-writing partner, Gary Barlow.

Eliot Kennedy said: "I am honoured to be hosting ‘Party in the Park’ at Catterick. Everyone is donating their time and are really committed to make sure it’s going to be a brilliant party."

The free concert will also showcase some of the UK’s emerging talent from the songwriter and producer’s Steelworks Studios, which has produced albums from stars including Donny Osmond.

Acts performing at Ypres Lines, Catterick, include the young band from Leeds, Leodis, playing original tracks and Eagles covers, country rock band Fargo, and the emerging rock artist Megan Bird.

Young pop star Max Restaino will also perform. Max has toured with names including Steps and Rebecca Ferguson.

Alongside live music, the free, family event features military stands, bouncy castles, food, drink and other entertainment for all ages.
