AN order to reduce anti-social behaviour on two Hambleton industrial estates is being considered.

Consultation has begun over the proposed introduction of a new Public Spaces Protection Order on Thirsk and Leeming Bar Industrial Estates and the surrounding areas.

It comes in the wake of drivers camping overnight in their vehicles which can result in littering and inappropriate disposal of waste. Starting of engines and use of refrigeration units through the night is also said to have led to disturbances for local residents.

In response to the concerns of locals, the district council is now asking for comments on the proposed PSPO which would stop unauthorised camping in any vehicle, including HGVs.

Information on the proposal, along with an online questionnaire, is available on hambleton.gov.uk/survey/pspo.

Drop-in session are are also being held at Leeming Bar Community Hub on July 6 from 1-3pm and July 14 from 11-2.30pm and again at Thirsk town hall on July 19 from 5.30-7.30pm.
