THREE people had to be treated in hospital for smoke inhalation after a blaze at a house in North Yorkshire early yesterday.

Fire crews were called to East Road in Norton, near Malton, at about 3.30am and used hose reel jets to put out the flames.

The fire service confirmed that three people who were in the house managed to get out and were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.

Neighbour Erika Perry said she woke up after hearing her son,Andrew shouting "there's a fire".

She added: "I thought I was dreaming at first then Andrew came into my bedroom and said there is a house on fire.
