A SMALL Papillon dog has been mauled to death on Redcar beach.
The dog was attacked and killed on the beach close to the sand dunes near the Majuba Road car park at about 4pm yesterday, Friday.
Police are wanting to trace and hopefully speak to a woman who was walking two Rottweiler dogs in the area at the time. She was possibly wearing a green-coloured jacket and jeans.
In April a pet beagle was bitten and injured by a Rottweiler further down the beach at South Gare, being walked by a woman with another Rottweiler, although it is not known if the two incidents are connected.
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 1051 Wayne Pursley of the Neighbourhood team Redcar on either 101 or 01642 302828.
