THE sentencing of a headteacher, who persuaded a 16-year-old girl to send him indecent photographs of herself, has been put back after “further information” emerged.

John Stubbins was previously told to “prepare” for prison after admitting two counts of causing or inciting a child aged 14 to 17 to participate in pornography, involving him persuading the girl to send the images, and two of possessing the indecent photos.

All date from February and March last year, involved the same girl, who was not a pupil at the County Durham primary school where Stubbins worked.

On his arrest, the 44-year-old father-of-two was suspended, “with immediate effect”.

In the light of correspondence that has come to light, Recorder Joanne Kidd adjourned sentence and bailed Stubbins to return to Durham Crown Court on July 6
