ONE lucky lady has romped home with a fabulous prize ahead of Ladies’ Day at Redcar Races.

Science teacher, Louise King, took part in a competition on Redcar Racecourse’s Facebook page, and was delighted to win a clutch of gifts for this years’ Ladies’ Day on Saturday, June 23.

With her £100 personal shopping experience from sponsor Betty Leigh Boutique in West Terrace, Redcar, she chose a beautiful halter-neck dress in cobalt blue, which she set off with citrus yellow accessories.

However, she is keeping the dress for a Prom Night in the summer, as she had already made herself a dress especially for Ladies’ Day.

Louise, who lives in Redcar and teaches at the town’s Sacred Heart Secondary School, said: “I’ve been coming to Ladies’ Day for about ten years with my friends, and we love the chance to get dressed up.

“I started planning my dress after last years’ event and I’d already made it when I won the competition. I never win anything, so it was a great surprise. Now I have my dress for the day, and the gorgeous Betty Leigh dress for my school prom.”

She also received a £150 voucher from Market Cross Jewellers to spend on jewellery for the big day.

The racecourse is treating her to a VIP Racing Experience that includes VIP admission to the event for Louise and three friends, and a three-course lunch for four, with wine, in the Voltigeur Restaurant.

And there are more fabulous prizes, worth more than £1,500, up for grabs on the day, for the ladies that really go that extra furlong.

The Best Dressed Lady will receive a selection of Michael Kors goodies, provided by Market Cross Jewellers; a Personal Shopping Experience with Betty Leigh Boutique plus a £50 voucher to spend in store; and a bottle of Champagne and a bouquet of flowers.

Second prize comprises Links of London jewellery, plus a £100 voucher to spend in store, from Market Cross Jewellers.

The third prize winner will receive Olivia Burton items plus a £50 Nomination voucher to spend in Market Cross Jewellers. Plus, all winners will receive a blow dry voucher and product goodie bag donated by Orange Kerr Hair & Beauty.

The prize for the Best Hat is a bespoke hat made by Chic Hats, a bottle of Champagne and a bouquet of flowers; second prize is a Swarovski pendant and earrings set, provided by Market Cross Jewellers; who are also providing the third prize of a £50 Nomination voucher to spend in the shop.

The competition winners will also be asked to present trophies to winners of two of the races and the lucky Best Dressed Lady will then go on to represent Redcar in the Go Racing In Yorkshire “Best Dressed Lady in Yorkshire” competition to be held at Doncaster Racecourse on Saturday, October 27.

Gates open at 11am with the first race at 1.35pm.
