POP legend Lionel Richie kicked off Scarborough Open Air Theatre’s summer programme in style this week.

The superstar played to a sell-out crowd on Tuesday night and treated fans to some of his biggest hits including Hello, Say You Say Me, Dancing On The Ceiling, Stuck On You, Easy and All Night Long.

This summer’s season continues on Thursday night with a headline performance from The Script.

On Friday, former Take That frontman Gary Barlow takes to the stage on Friday.

The venue, which is billed as Europe’s largest open air arena, has a strong line-up of artists this year, with American superstar Britney Spears sure to be among the highlights of the summer season.

Brit award-winner Emeli Sandé is also scheduled to perform along with a host of other top names in the music industry including, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra’s Ibiza Classics, Nile Rodgers and CHIC, Bastille, Il Divo and Steps.
