A DRIVER had a lucky escape after narrowly avoiding hitting a lamp post head on just off the A19 in the early hours of Monday morning.
The car was driving southbound and just near Elwick the driver lost control of the car, clipped a concrete barrier ramp and crashed into the verge and fencing.
Police said there were 'miraculously' no injuries.
