Summer show

THE Darlington Orchestra’s annual Summer Concert 2018 will be held on Saturday, July 7 from 7.30pm at the Dolphin Centre. The informal, accessible event will feature “an eclectic selection of classical music” with pieces ranging from Beethoven to Burt Bacharach, Gershwin and Hungarian folk. Conductor David Plews said: “We won’t have done our job if we don’t send the audience home humming some of the tunes.” Admission is £7 or £5 for concessions. Visit darlington-orchestra.org.uk.

Coffee morning

THE Cockerton Methodist Art Group will hold its next art exhibition and coffee morning on Saturday, June 16 from 10am until 2pm. All are welcome to attend.

Park exhibition

DARLINGTON’S parks will be the focus of an exhibition currently being displayed a the Centre for Local Studies at Darlington’s Crown Street Library. Postcards from the Park will feature photographs, postcards and paintings of the town’s parks in years gone by. It will run from Saturday, June 9 until Monday, July 9 during normal library opening hours.

Health group

A HEALTH group will be at Darlington Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, June 20 between 10am and 4pm, allowing outpatients the chance to find out about their work. Breathe Easy Darlington will be available to give information and advice on lung disease, and how you can help family and friends. No appointment is necessary.
