A BAND whose members hail from Bedale and Masham are preparing to release their first single as they look to continue their rise to prominence.

The band, The Doubtful Bottle, have already had the single entitled “Eye” played on BBC Introducing, and at the end of June it will be available at all major outlets including Spotify, ITunes, Amazon and Deezer.

It will also be available to buy on CD.

The band recorded the video to the single on location in Darlington and have several shows booked around the release date.

This includes a single launch party at ‘The Shed’ in Bedale on Saturday, June 30.

Lead guitarist and singer John Gillies said: “We are getting such a good reaction from our music from all around the world, and fans have been asking us when we are touring in their country.

“We are hoping to show the world that great UK music is not only made in London, but that the North has a lot to offer too.”

The four-piece, made up of John and Genevieve Gillies, Jim Beadle and Nathan Reeves, also have a number of other concerts in the region lined up.

These include playing at the Midsummer Bash festival in Hawes on July 7, the The Castle Tavern, Richmond on July 28 and at Glastonbilly in Ripon on August 11.

The band describe their sound as “interdimensional frantic cool rock” and Eye will be released on June 29.
