A SCHOOLGIRL’s anti-litter poster will go on display in her home village as part of a campaign to keep communities clean and tidy.
Katie Pratt, seven, designed the poster as part of a competition at Howden-le-Primary School. Part of the 3 Towns Area Action Partnership (AAP)-funded It’s Your Town Project, Durham County Council’s civic pride team challenged the youngsters to create a poster to encourage people to dispose of their litter correctly.
Nicola Woodgate, community development project officers at the 3 Towns AAP, said: “Katie’s design was chosen as the winner for the school as it showed a clear anti-litter message which would appeal across the generations. We look forward to seeing the poster displayed throughout the village of Howden-le-Wear.”
As well as having her poster used within the campaign, Katie was awarded a gift voucher which was presented by the council’s anti-litter mascot Tidy Ted during a special assembly.
