Bridge vandals

POLICE are trying to track down vandals who have repeatedly daubed graffiti, including offensive language, on two bridges in Boroughbridge over the past few weeks. Names including Booki, Nook and Salaz have been included. Police also fear the suspects are risking their lives by crossing exposed girders. Holiday fun

Sample stitch

A “STITCHES in Time” exhibition is running at St Mary’s Church,Thirsk, until Bank Holiday Monday. It features stitched samplers from 18th-century to the present day. Open between 10am and 4pm and entry is free.

Model trains

A MINI model railway show with trade stalls is taking place at the Three Tuns Hotel in Thirsk on Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free but there will be a collection in aid of Clic Sargent.

Charity boost

RYEDALE Special Families has received a £5,000 boost. The donation was made by the St James’s Place Charitable Foundation, the charity arm of St James’s Place Wealth Management in Malton,
