A GRIEVING mother has spoken of her horror at discovering the 'disgusting' vandalism of her baby's grave.

Christie Carr said she was devastated by the scene that met her when she went to visit her son Lennon's grave at to Bishop Auckland Cemetery, on South Church Road, on Tuesday, May 15.

The 29-year-old said: "Lennon was stillborn in December 2016.

"I had a special Moses basket grave imported and everything on his grave I put there like teddies and a Peter Rabbit mobile.

"I visit three or four times every day– six to eight since this happened to check nothing more has been done– and go and talk to him and tell him stories.

"I'm absolutely devastated, I think it was disgusting. Stuff was thrown all over the place, they invaded mine and Lennon's place, he should be at peace."

PC Lee Blaney, of Bishop Auckland response, described it as a 'despicable' act and urged anyone with information to call him on 101 quoting incident number 354 of May 15.
