TWO people arrested following a crash near Thirsk that killed two teenage boys remain on police bail.
The crash, on the A61 between Busby Stoop and Carlton Miniott on March 7, claimed the lives of 17-year-old passengers George Thomas Turner, from Sowerby, and Mason Pearson, from Thirsk.
The crash involved a VW Bora and a Ford Focus and also left other passengers seriously injured and needing hospital treatment for critical injuries.
A 22-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
A 17-year-old boy was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and committing an act or series of acts with intent to pervert the course of public justice.
This week North Yorkshire Police confirmed that both suspects remain on conditional bail whilst police continue their enquiries into the incident.
