SPECTACULAR military displays will celebrate the Freedom of Ripon being granted to the Corps of Royal Engineers next weekend.
Soldiers from 21 Engineer Regiment, based at Claro Barracks in the city, will man the static displays in Ripon Square between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, June 2.
This will include the 30-tonne Terrier armoured digger, the most advanced engineering vehicle in the British Army, as well as a Jackal Reconnaissance vehicle.
Also on display will be a Combat Engineer stand, a construction/artisan trade skills stand, weapons display and a dive tank.
On Sunday, June 3, the Regiment will exercise the Freedom of Ripon through the streets following a Service of Installation for the new Mayor at Ripon Cathedral.
The soldiers will parade from the Cathedral at 11.25am.
