A MASKED robber armed with a knife threatened a lone shop worker in an attempt to steal cash.
A man wearing a balaclava demanded money from a cashier shortly after 7am on Sunday, May 20, after entering a convenience shop on Clifton Road, in Darlington.
The man took two bottles of wine before running away into Wordsworth Road, towards the Skerne Park estate.
A second man, who was waiting nearby, also ran off with the balaclava-clad raider.
Darlington Police have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to following the knifepoint robbery.
Detective Sergeant John Tyers, from Darlington CID, said: “The victim is understandably shocked and upset following the incident.
“We would like to speak to the two men pictured as they may be able to help us with our enquiries.
“Anyone who recognises them should contact us as soon as possible.”
