PEOPLE in County Durham who want to watch what happens a council meetings from the comfort of their own homes will have to wait.
Durham County Council held a consultation this year on whether its meetings should be streamed live on the internet.
More than 60 per cent of the 800 people who responded said meetings should be broadcast live on the web and social media.
However, the council says it would be “impractical” to provide filming at County Hall, as facilities are not suitable.
It says the equipment needed to broadcast meetings will be included in plans for its its proposed new headquarters.
Detailed plans of its move from Aykley Heads to a new headquarters to be built on the car park at The Sands, are expected this year.
