POLICE have released an image of a woman they want to speak to after a hate crime in Newcastle.
The incident happened in the early hours of Friday, April 6, when a woman approached a taxi driver at the taxi rank outside the Centre of Life on Westmorland Road.
A police spokesman said: "She verbally abused the driver and made a number of racist comments after she refused to allow her into his vehicle.
"Inquiries into the incident are ongoing but police are treating it as a hate crime. They have now released an image of a woman they want to trace.
"She was at the taxi rank at the time of the incident and may be able to assist the police investigation."
