THE date for boxer Scott Westgarth’s funeral has been announced.
Scott, originally from Prudhoe, Northumberland, died after wining his final fight in February. He is to be cremated on May 29, in Sheffield.
Scott was rushed to hospital after falling ill backstage following his victory over Dec Spelman at the Doncaster Dome on February 24, his death was confirmed two days later.
The 31-year-old will be cremated at Grenoside Crematorium, Sheffield. The service starts at 2pm.
A GoFundMe page set up after his death to raise money for his family has now collected more than £7,000.
It is believed Scott died from brain trauma but an inquest has yet to conclude.
