Traffic on the A19 Tees flyover Picture: Lee Wilmot
A MULTI-VEHICLE accident closed part of the A19 this morning.
Traffic was diverted from the A19 northbound on the Tees flyover above the Portrack roundabout onto the Portrack Interchange, near Stockton, due to the accident, which involved eight vehicles.
Paramedics and Cleveland Fire Brigade attended scene and a number of people have been taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Cleveland Fire Brigade confirmed two people had to be cut out of their vehicles by firefighters.
