A TEAM of workers from Middlesbrough saw off stiff competition from neighbouring authorities to win this year’s Apprenticeship Challenge.
They joined in friendly rivalry with teams of fellow apprentices from Redcar & Cleveland and Darlington Councils in a series of physical and mental tests.
The Apprenticeship Challenge – now in its sixth year - took place at Middlesbrough Sports Village, and after a very close, hard fought competition and a nerve-racking tie break, Middlesbrough Council Apprentices emerged victorious.
Winning team members Declan Hoyland, Demi-Leigh Thompson, Ellie Thomas, Emmie Ferguson, Lauren Davies, Namrah Zabeir and Stephen Allen were awarded a medal and each received a congratulatory gift voucher.
Jessica Frank, Middlesbrough community learning business development advisor said: “Well done to our brilliant apprentices whose enthusiasm and team spirit helped win the competition for Middlesbrough once again.
“It was a great day that was enjoyed by all."
