YOUNG water polo players have represented their home club in a national competition.
Sedgefield Water Polo Club Under 19 boys team reached the finals of the National Age Group Water Polo contest earlier this month.
The group spent more than one month competing across the country - completing five matches and ending their campaign to defend their 2017 winning title by beating City of Manchester to reach the final against Scottish team Caledonia.
However, in a tight match Sedgefield were finally defeated 6-8.
Club secretary Vicky Alderson said: “From 2013, in the National Championships Sedgefield have played 43 matches, won 37, lost five and drawn one. They have achieved four Gold, one Silver and one Bronze in that time. It is a truly fantastic achievement.”
