POLICE investigating a fraud offence would like to speak to this man in connection with the incident.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said offence took place on Front Street, Houghton-le-Spring on February 22.
It involved a man claiming to sell a new iPhone X after posting an advert online.
Money was exchanged but the victim later found the box was empty.
The spokesperson said: "Officers are keen to identify the man pictured as he may be able to help with inquiries.
"The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting 1197 22/02/18."
