CREMATORIUM: The former Blakeston School during demolition in 2016
WORK to create the entrance to the site of a new crematorium will get under way this week.
Stockton Borough Council plans to build the crematorium on the former Blakeston School playing fields on Junction Road in Roseworth.
The site entrance work, on Junction Road, is expected to last around five weeks.
The footpath will be closed and pedestrian diversions will be in place during this time and, when required, two way temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
Construction of the crematorium itself will then begin shortly after the completion of entrance works.
Plans for the crematorium were approved last year and include gardens of remembrance with associated landscaping and parking.
