ONE of the world’s rarest sheep breeds has given birth to triplets at a County Durham tourist attraction.

The Cameroon triplets were born at Adventure Valley, Brasside, Durham, on Wednesday.

Teeny, Tot and Tiny were born at about 8pm, with the smallest weighing in at just 1lb 4oz.

Animal supervisor Brian English said: “There are known to be under 700 Cameroon sheep in the world, so we are over the moon about the births births as we feel we are helping to protect and preserve this beautiful rare breed of sheep.

“It’s why I chose this profession.”

Cameroon sheep, which is one of the world’s oldest surviving breeds, have no wool but thick, tight hair and an extra undercoat during winter months.

They are best known for their brown colour, with a black head, belly and legs.

Adventure Valley says mum and lambs are doing well.
