ORGANISERS of this year’s festival promise it will cater for everyone, which includes offering a number of delicious dishes for those looking for vegan and vegetarian options.

The Green Guerrilla, in Darlington, will serve up freshly grilled veggie burgers loaded with a variety of toppings and dressings.

It will also sell a range of cold vegan sweet and savoury items such as pies, roulades, flapjacks and brownies.

Mike Barker, who set up the vegetarian and vegan street food business in 2016 with his son, Will, a former Royal Marine, will be trading at the festival for the first time.

Visitors might be familiar with its food from farmers markets, food festivals and music events and from Durham City where it is a regular in Market Place and has a deli counter in the Market Hall.

Mr Barker said: “We have been to BAFF before as customers but we’ve never actually sold there, so we’re really pleased to have got a spot. We want to show people how much fun vegan food can be and showcase our green credentials and our commitment to preserving rather than eating animals.”
