A WARNING has been issued about cold-calling gangs offering to fill potholes.
Complaints have been received from the Easingwold area in the past week of cold -callers claiming to be from North Yorkshire County Council and having material left over to fill pot holes in private drives and private roads. Thee claims are false.
Previous incidents have shown these gangs frequently demand more money than the price they quote upfront, once they have completed the work.
Anyone with information about Tarmac works being offered in the North Yorkshire area or has had any works completed by cold-callers in the past month is urged to contact trading standards as soon as possible on 03454 040506 and request contact from the Investigations and Safeguarding Team.
