A SUNDERLAND fan whose car was written off in Darron Gibson's drunken crash said he has not had an apology from the player.

The 21-year-old, who asked not to be named, has been without a car since the March 17 collision saw his parked Seat Ibiza FR launched 30m down the street.

The fan said Sunderland had been trying to help him, but the situation was complicated as Gibson was no longer with the struggling Championship team.

Gibson stayed inside his vehicle until the police told him to get out, the witness said.

He has not heard anything from the player.

He said: "He could have at least reached out and apologised and offered to help the people he caused such a problem to, but he hasn't done anything at all.

"Obviously he's probably going through a lot of trouble, deservedly, but the least he could do was help and apologise."
