NO sooner has he returned to the cobbles of Coronation Street, a soap actor turned chef is planning his return to a North-East Food Festival.

Sean Wilson, best known for his role as Martin Platt, will appear at Bishop Auckland Food Festival next month.

Mr Wilson has followed his love for food during his 13 year absence from from the ITV soap, creating his own range of multi-award winning Lancashire cheeses and working in Michelin star restaurants.

He also presented the Great Northern Cookbook for Channel 5, and penned a 92-recipe cookbook of the same name.

And while he has just returned to Coronation Street, he remains a passionate cook, and is a favourite at food festivals across the country.

“I’m thrilled to be heading back to Bishop Auckland Food Festival,” he said.

“I have very fond memories of my last visit and look forward to making new ones this April. It will be great to see everyone there.”

Mr Wilson will perform demonstrations using his cheeses in the Cookery Theatre in the Town Hall at 11am and 2pm on Sunday, April 22. Tickets are £5 each with limited seats available for each session.

He will join the likes of television favourite Phil Vickery and 2016 Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown.
