A POPULAR series of ‘Springboard’ talks are launching again for 2018.

The events, hosted at Thirsk Quaker Meeting House at 7pm on Sunday nights are beginning to attract an increasing audience.

Over the next three months, three talks are planned, with the first being Linda Smith speaking about Jervaulx Abbey on March 25.

On April 22, Professor Andy Gouldston of Leeds University will be looking at sustainability issues.

And Diane Gamble, from St Oswald’s in Sowerby, who is one of the very few vicars who is also a trained engine driver, will be talking about railway enthusiasm.

This follows on from the three popular talks in the Spring of 2017, which featured, among others, Massud Razzaq of the Islamic Cultural Centre in Bradford.

All talks are free, with refreshments provided.
