TRAIN enthusiasts can discover how railways, locomotives and rolling stock really work through displays modelled on British main line railways at a North-East museum.
Locomotion, in Shildon, will play host to the Ground Level 5” Gauge Main Line (GL5) Association Shunting Demonstration from Friday, March 23, to Sunday, March 25.
The GL5 Association focuses on realistic railway operations in ground level 5” gauge and model British main line railways.
Suitable for all ages, the event will take place in Locomotion’s Collection Building.
Visitors will be able to see ground level 5” gauge steam and diesel locomotives operated against a backdrop of the museum’s standard gauge collection.
The club will be on site to set up from Wednesday, March 21.
The museum will be open from 10am until 4pm throughout the event, and admission and parking are free of charge.
