A WOMAN who was found dead at a house in the early hours of Monday has been named as Angela Rider, 51.
She was found dead at the property in Cawood, near York.
In a joint statement from her daughter Sara Rider, her mother Wendy Brown and her sister Tracy Mills said they had suffered the "most devastating loss".
They said: "Angela was the most beautiful, fantastic mum, a wonderful daughter and the best sister anyone could have wished for."
A 49-year-old man appeared before York magistrates yesterday charged with her murder.
Adrian Michael Rodi, of Chestnut Road, Cawood, only briefly spoke during the short hearing to confirm his name, age, address and nationality.
He appeared in the court wearing a blue-grey sweater over a white shirt and grey trousers,and was flanked in the dock by two dock officers.
Magistrates told him: "Because of the nature and seriousness of this offence you will be remanded in custody until tomorrow when you will appear before Leeds Crown Court."
