A ROAD has reopened following a crash involving a jack-knifed lorry.
A car crashed into a tree after swerving to avoid a lorry in snow earlier on Monday.
The A691 Lanchester Road was closed near Durham for several hours after the lorry jack-knifed.
Durham Police say they were called at around 10.10am to reports of a two-vehicle crash, involving a Volvo articulated lorry and a black Nissan Juke, on the A691, between Lanchester Road Hospital and Sniperley park and ride.
A spokesperson said: “The HGV is believed to have caught some snow and due to its movement, the Nissan Juke has swerved to avoid and has collided with a tree.”
Emergency services attended but no injuries were sustained.
