POLICE are investigating the use of fake bank notes in a North Yorkshire town.
Officers in Northallerton say they have been alerted to counterfeit notes which were used in shops in the town on Sunday, February 18 and Monday, February 19.
They were Scottish £50 notes.
Northallerton Police are now asking any further victims to come forward and urging any businesses trading in cash to be vigilant and check the authenticity of cash.
If anyone has any information on the crime, or of any suspicious activity in the area, they should report it to police on 101, quoting incident number; 12180029747.
